In December of 2004, we began using a revolutionary product called Rehau®. Since then all of our builders have converted to this type of pipe and with good reason. Listed below are the main reasons we have used and promoted this product.
It's a nearly leak-proof system. With "home runs" from the manifold to each fixture, and no fittings between, this process ensures a tight system.
It's Quiet. No "banging" of pipes due to pipe expansion because of heating/cooling of the pipes.
It's clean. No flux or other chemical residues that remain in the pipes after the install because none are used to make Rehau® connections .
It's Reliable. It is capable of withstanding extreme temperatures and pressures. (including pressure surges.) No more frozen pipes!
It's Fast. Since each device is home run, it provides for a quick delivery of hot water to the fixture. It does not loop from fixture to fixture, taking a long time to deliver hot water.
CPVC and copper have several fittings between the manifold and the fixture, making it prone to failure. Rehau® uses only two, one at the fixture and one at the manifold. This eliminates many potential leak points. Oftentimes unglued or unsoldered connections do not leak until several days, sometimes even months after the install when the homeowner has moved in and set up their furniture and other belongings causing thousands of dollars in damage.
It's Secure. Many plumbing contractors use the crimp ring with their pex installs. At Stephen Ross Plumbing, we use the Everloc connector. The difference? Crimp rings are only 5/16 wide whereas the Everloc connector is nearly 1" wide providing a much more secure connection.
It's Easy. With the piping available in red and blue, crossed water lines are a thing of the past.
It's Economical. While copper prices have gone through the roof, Rehau® has remained stable and is the best economical choice. Many builders are reporting that their copper is being stolen almost as quickly as it is installed.
Another reason we can say... "Right • Reliable • Ross"
Take a look at the photos below, which system would you want in your house?
Notice how the Rehua/Everloc System covers so much more of the pipe and fitting. Also notice how much smaller the interior diameter of the fitting is on the standard crimp fitting. The Everloc does not restrict water flow.
